I came upon a child of God He was walking along the road And I asked him, where are you going And this he told me I'm going on down to Yasgur's farm I'm going to join in a rock 'n' roll band I'm going to camp out on the land I'm going to try an' get my soul free We are stardust We are golden And we've got to get ourselves Back to the garden Then can I walk beside you I have come here to lose the smog And I feel to be a cog in something turning Well maybe it is just the time of year Or maybe it's the time of man I don't know who l am But you know life is for learning We are stardust We are golden And we've got to get ourselves Back to the garden By the time we got to Woodstock We were half a million strong And everywhere there was song and celebration And I dreamed I saw the bombers Riding shotgun in the sky And they were turning into butterflies Above our nation We are stardust Billion year old carbon We are golden Caught in the devil's bargain And everyone is trying to is trying to is dying to get back to the garden Just another time/Just another place just another landscape just another ride/just another vibe/ just another life out the gate/ for the mind/for the pleasure/for the lie/ for the cheddar/ for the lie/for the pleasure/for the pleasure for the lie/for the pleasure/ for the pleasure

Phony 03:55
Brought a rookie home/couldn't get it goin/ so we just gave up/ gave myself away/to another, no/ i can't get enough/ am i sick or phony? i don't really know me/ you can call my bluff/ am I twisted, lonely? think the world doth owe me/ so I hurt the ones, yeah/ the ones that mean the most to me/ the ones that feed the family/ 'cause i've never had a healthy thing/ I've always been a solo bitch/ (chemical imbalance or just some deeper shit?) And you ride/ride 'til the end of days/ and you try/even when you are not okay/ and you mean everything you do/ and you mean everything you say/ and you want everything to prove that you are not the one to blame/ that we are cool/but are we cool? (repentance on my lips that's just the way it is) Awaken in distress/help like S.O.S./ feel it drain my soul/ could it be in my blood/is this ancestral mud/ an extreme ebb and flow? i dig my hands in earth/i quench my body's thirst/ add fire to the core/ don't give into temptation/mind is always racing/ and i'm searching for/ Uniderstand/a little hope/ A plan I can manage/so I can manage/ my highs and lows/ (I didn't ask for this I just want you to know) And you ride/ride 'til the end of days/ and you try/even when you are not okay/ and you mean everything you do/ and you mean everything you say/ and you want everything to prove that you are not the one to blame/ that we are cool/but are we cool? And you ride/ride 'til the end of days/ and you try/even when you are not okay/ Brought a rookie home/couldn't get it goin/ so we just gave up/ gave myself away/to another, no/ i can't get enough/ am i sick or phony? i don't really know me/ you can call my bluff/ am I twisted, lonely? I just think I'm hungry/ for some proper love/

Saw you through the window/saw you at the back of my mind Ill wait If you see me to the gatefold/can i get a little piece of your time Ill wait I dont need you to reflect me/but i need you to respect me on high Ill wait I want you to be ready/but im standing at the end of your line Ill wait Ill wait/for tongue’s lawless/ Past gestation and nativity/ Ill wait here regardless/ Of the loss of mind’s proclivity For love/and loving My nerves cant be outnumberd/they lead me to an altar unseen/ Unsafe Our foundation, drips of color/a deeply rich but hesitant green unsafe I want you to be ready/i want to tell you all of my needs/ Unsafe Our foundation is unsteady/sometimes harder to lay bricks than to grieve Unsafe unsafe/like weeping willow/halved by lightning while the churchyard sleeps unsafe/head to pillow/dreaming you become stranger to me/ And i lay in the darkness its a sexless wrath of bland dis-ease But my heart unharnessed is stronger than the lot of me In love and loving Hey, let your guard down/stop pushing me away Hey, let your guard down/and i'll give it just another day/ I'll wait/I'llwait/I'll wait/I'll wait Are we something? Or/ Are we just another sad song?

I've known more than this/with my fingertips/ i've known plate glass (x2) And when the doctor calls you in/ he's super early/but he's got something/ to tell you, baby/ And when he rolls his cart into the room/ and you begin to worry/andyou run away/ collaborating with your sense of doom/ who are you when you're mad? I've been let go/I'm out of control/ I've come so far/but I'm still broke/ and it's only/7:30PM/ feels like i'll claw my face off/ if it's not already stone/ who's to say when i run/ when i go/when i run/ when i go/when i stop/ when i close the door to keep it out? i have my doubts who's to say/when i run/ when i go/when i go/ when i'm through/when i get to you/ will i get to you? will i get to you? will i find you? yeah, man, i guess i'll be around/ but count the summer out/ but i'll be around/
6.
Hold Me 03:27
I can't complain/ or can I? I don't even know anymore/ I've been all over the place/ so why do I want more? And I need you to hold me/ hold me (x3) I can't see your face/ am I breaking through? will I be replaced? or will I become something new? Hold me (x8)
7.
Break Bread 01:26
When you come back to break bread/ when you come back to the residence/ when you come back to run me into the ground, yeah/ when you come back you're coming with the weight of the road/ it'll change you, you know/ you got it all/ you got it bad/ said you freak with the ripeness/ when you said you'd make it with those presidents/ when you gonna trust that thinking/ when you get that sinking feeling something's going straight into your brain/ well you gotta be insane/ to think that i'd care/ to think i didn't see it clear/ to think i'd want you back and near/ i guess we're all on the same sphere/ but you're not in world (x4)

about

“[We] must examine the deeply relational composition of capitalist world-forms that present the world as homogenous, simplified, and autonomous. The denial of complexity is the common denominator to every sacrifice zone. Arranging nature in the interest of capital requires a mass simplification: the reduction of all life into the categories of resource or waste.” - David Farrier, Anthropocene Poetics: Deep Time, Sacrifice Zones and Extinction

We (are) matter. Our bodies are just one of many languages nature uses to express its Divinity. We experience our environment and, in turn, it experiences us. If we arrange the world in terms of extremes, we miss the intricacies of all living beings that create character, true autonomy - the makings of a soul. If we avoid the complexities of self we favor avoidance and supremacy.
'Sacrifice Zone' asks us to see past our own reductive tendencies and find the world we’ve created externally within ourselves. What governs our self-worth? What do we categorize as emotionally resourceful? Do we view certain parts of ourselves as waste? Where do our emotional sacrifice zones sit and what is the energetic investment that has forced them to exist?
These songs are humble attempts to bridge a systemic dichotomy within the self; poems written as an attempt to recycle collective feelings of isolation, ungroundedness and abandonment. 'Sacrifice Zone' plays with experiences of empty promises, loss of romantic hope and the construct of failure under late capitalism.

No living being is waste. Can we acknowledge, examine and learn from the complexities of life in order to inspire a different approach to the creation of a new world?
